Alpha Spectra offers several different annular detector designs. Some of these designs are shown in the images displayed here. One of our standard annular detectors is a 9″x9″ NaI(TI) detector with a PMT mounted on each segement. The model number is 36ADEW36/2(4). The segments can be optically isolated if, for example, angular correlation data is useful.
Design Considerations include:
- Volume of scintillator to surround the host detector
- Well type and dimensions: Through well, T-well, L-well
- Housing material
- Well wall thickness
